Erick Vázquez was born in México in 1977, and so is a mild scorpio. An essayist and mostly an art critic, in the year 2000 was awarded a grant to develop an essay on art theory by the State Writers Center (Centro de Escritores de Nuevo León), and in 2002 was awarded the National Prize for Art Criticism Luis Cardoza y Aragón. He’s been published in several art exhibition catalogues and in different magazines such as Tierra Adentro, Luvina, Art Nexus, Crítica y Replicante. In 2009 published his first essays book “La Naturaleza de la memoria” in Fondo Editorial Tierra Adentro. In the 2016 created and directed the first diploma course in art criticism of the public university in Monterrey city, where he lives with his dog, Malta.
