Julian Weaver is an artist who works primarily with sound. His work focuses on matter, substance and sensing in scientific and historical imaginaries and fictions.

Water is a regular component of Julian's practice which ranges from bubble acoustics and seaweed's extractive economies to the charting of hydrogen isotopes used in nuclear fusion, from remaking the cold water cures of Hydropathy to exploring the English Channel as a site of nausea.

Finetuned is currently working with EuroFusion to produce immersive, artistic and participatory components of Fusion Expo: a pan-European exhibition on the state of the art in Fusion Energy, and is a project partner on Listening Across Disciplines; a four year pan-European research project aiming to observe and analyse listening, its processes and applications, in order to determine whether it is possible to establish “listening protocols” that might act as transferable knowledge tools.
