Welcome to RE:SOUND, the 8th International Conference on the Histories of Media Arts 2019 - Aalborg, Denmark. RE:SOUND is part of the Media Arts Histories conference series, bringing together leading researchers, artists, and scientists on a series of interdisciplinary topics for over 14 years.

The RE:SOUND conference will take a specific interest on the theories, practices, histories, etc., of art and technology which are focusing on, concerned with, reflecting on, including, mobilising and/or working with sound as a main component or an integral part. RE:SOUND will host four days with 10 tracks of paper sessions, panels, workshops, practice-based interventions, exhibitions, performances, poster sessions, a PhD workshop and keynotes.

Iván Terceros, Bolivian sociologist, communicator, software developer and audiovisual producer. Is collaborator in several civic laboratories, hacklabs and medialab between Bolivia, Perú and Ecuador. He is actually, the General Producer of Medialab in the International Center of Advanced Studies in Communications for Latin America (CIESPAL) located in the city of Quito, Ecuador. Experimental artist and cultural manager in themes about Culture, Art, Technology and Society. Fundamentally approached from the free cultural and free software in relation to the local contexts, memory of the identity and the decolonial discussions. Promoter and designer of educational programs for the learning of programming languages, for intercultural and interdisciplinary contexts, with diverse audiences. Collaborator with the Ministry of Education of Ecuador, Organization of Ibero-American States and several NGOs in these processes. Cofounder in Wawakipu project, winner of the Google Rise Awards 2016 for computer science education. Project based on the development of the computational thinking to children, through reflection on indigenous stories and the development of video games. He is the author of the book "Radios, Redes e Internet para la transformación social" published by CIESPAL.
