Welcome to RE:SOUND, the 8th International Conference on the Histories of Media Arts 2019 - Aalborg, Denmark. RE:SOUND is part of the Media Arts Histories conference series, bringing together leading researchers, artists, and scientists on a series of interdisciplinary topics for over 14 years.

The RE:SOUND conference will take a specific interest on the theories, practices, histories, etc., of art and technology which are focusing on, concerned with, reflecting on, including, mobilising and/or working with sound as a main component or an integral part. RE:SOUND will host four days with 10 tracks of paper sessions, panels, workshops, practice-based interventions, exhibitions, performances, poster sessions, a PhD workshop and keynotes.

Laura Netz (Laura Gracia) (Barcelona, 1982). Curator, artist, and researcher. Currently, she is an MPhil student at Crisap – UAL, where investigating the relationship between Curating and Cultural Management in Art, Science and Technology. In 2006, she graduated in Art History (University of Barcelona). Consequently, studies at Master in Cultural Practices and New Media Art (University Ramon Llull). In 2009, establishes in London where attends to Curating course (Central Saint Martins, UAL). One year after, she was granted to study at MAH Media Art Histories (Donau University, Krems, Austria) that brought her to publish in different magazines and journals (Digicult Magazine, PJIM Parsons Journal of Information Mapping). In 2011, attends the professional course about New Media Curating, led by Beryl Graham (University of Sunderland). Interested in sound art, science, technology and digital media, she is an active participant in hacking culture. Over these years, as a curator, she has taken part in many international events such as exhibitions, workshops, conferences, publications, and concerts in Spain, Portugal, UK, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, Serbia, Russia, Hong Kong, the U.S., and Brasil. She has participated in international conferences and panels (ISEA International Symposium on Electronics Arts, MOTA Museum of Transitory Art) and developed curatorial exhibitions in collaboration with museums and galleries (MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona, MAC Museum Contemporary Art Bogota). She has worked with different new media art festivals, such as ArtFutura, MUTEK, and Alpha-ville. She collaborates with artists such as Locus Sonus, Roy Ascott, Konrad Becker, Fran Illich, and Arcangelo Constantini, among much more.
